Google Doodle marks the celebration of India Republic Day. Indians celebrate Republic day on 26th January every year. This is one of the most important national days in their country. India became independent on August 15, 1947, during which it did not have a constitution. A constitution is the law book or the rule book of a nation. It serves as the guidelines for the government as well as the people.

All the national leaders decided to have such a rule book and commissioned a committee called a Constituent Assembly. More than 300 members sat down to draft it. Besides, they took three years to complete it. They listed all the problems and brought the rules as solutions. India is the country which has the long written constitution. The drafting committee presented the constitution’s first draft to the national assembly on November 4, 1947. The national assembly signed the final English and Hindi language versions of the constitution on January 24, 1950.
